Frequently Asked Questions

Q1: What is the difference between GST Inclusive and GST Exclusive?

GST Exclusive means GST is added on top of the net base amount (Gross = Base + (Base × Rate%)). GST Inclusive means the gross amount already contains the tax, so the base amount and GST must be reverse-calculated (Base = Gross / (1 + Rate%)).

Q2: How are CGST and SGST calculated on intra-state sales?

For sales within the same state, the applicable GST rate is divided equally between Central GST (CGST) and State GST (SGST). For example, an 18% GST rate is split as 9% CGST and 9% SGST.

Q3: What are the standard GST rate slabs in India?

India has four primary GST slabs: 5% (essential goods), 12% (standard goods/services), 18% (most standard services and manufactured products), and 28% (luxury and sin goods).
